A/ “The” before words starting with a consonant
When the word “the” is followed by a word beginning with a consonant, pronounce it as /ðə/.
A/ “The” before words starting with a vowel
When the word “the” is followed by a word beginning with a vowel, pronounce it as /ði/. Make sure to link the two words with the consonant /y/.
